Patrick and Sharon Aycock moved into their Habitat home in 2006 – the first Habitat home in East Oak Cliff. Since that time, they have seen a drastic change in the neighborhood dynamics to which had been referred to as “the forgotten land.” After taking Habitat classes in money management and paying off their mortgage, the couple opened a few businesses in their community, including a corner shop, barbershop, recording studio, and laundromat.
