A brilliantly shot and edited work...(of art).
I am a cinematographer and now I am using 5D2...and would appreciate if you spelt out the workflow please. I plan to edit on a FCE.

In FCE export to Quicktime ProRes (HQ) and use that in After Effects. That file format is uncompressed and won't degrade the image. Hope this helps!

Sorry Kain... you are right.

However ProRes is effective and widely used in the industry. Have used it before without seeing any visible loss of quality in my work.

I'm hearing the distortion too. Your audio is getting clipped. Somewhere in your program it's getting pushed too much - maybe it's a compressor setting? Great video though!

Beautiful. Great compositions. Love my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, too. Other lenses are sharper, or have less chromatic aberration, but this one has a wonderful cinematic look even at higher apertures. Thanks.

(btw) I'm hearing the same audio distortion others are talking about throughout the video.

No I saw it on the first pass, but after many I guess I've become hyper-aware of them. Years ago while working in TV I got reamed out for a flash frame in a news story I edited, and ever since have been deathly afraid of them :)
By the way - if you weren't already aware of this, when you re-export the video you can use the "replace" function instead of having to delete the video and then re-upload it as a separate item. It would be a shame to lose all these nice comments :)

After viewing your film 2 words come to my mind : VISUAL POETRY (Marcus mentioned the same). Great work, very nice example of natural looking, well thought and fun produced project. We can feel the passion you put into it. Bali offers much as a setting n character itself, but the way you captured it and edited it makes it all hold together and transmits the ambiance of the place. On some shots I can almost feel the rain storm about to burst. Thanks and keep creating such great pieces.

Truly a piece of art, its my wish to film like this one day :). Just one question. In post, did you intentionaly reduced brightness at some areas of the shot to point out one specific part, for examaple at 2:37? You used vignette on the right of the footage to point out the women walking yes? Sorry for my bad english, just trying to learn :). Thnx. And again... beautiful!

Thanks man, i took about 200,000 photos then played them back at 25 photos per second, i have about an hour of video but this was where the visual narrative was....

Ile send you a link to the Bali Doc when its done, might be moulding it into a Audio-Visual live cinema project...

Nice work my friend! That indislider comes in handy does it not? I have one myself....working on a fast pace India video (for fun) and used the slider on several occasions in similar rice paddies that you show on yours. Very nice cost-effective tool! Awesome video!

Small and cheap tripod shoulder bag. Not bulky at all...lightweight. Only minor pain is having to attach the rubber screw-on legs when you take it out. Have a look at what you can do with it: vimeo.com/17997289
