This workshop is open to dancers and body-based performers.
We offer a container for experiences, departing from basic exercises on presence and physical states which develop each day in an orchestrated dramaturgy where practice merges into performance. We challenge the body with durational tasks, often exhaustion and meditative journeys to raise the frequencies of bodies and space, to allow each individual to address her own personal patterns and issues. We look at the at the body-entity as very charged matter able to strategize itself, shifting constantly between being a shape, an image, an object, an animal, a system. Working with and in space, time and presence, each body will be engaged and challenged in a question-making process concerning improvisation and its tools. How to sustain an improvised thought or action? How is such action transposed into the space? How do we engage composition?
We set a very permeable border between practice and performance, and as artists we treat the workshop as a site for our own research and purposefully maintain the ambiguity of our role of mentor and charged/performative presence.
