This highlights one of the things cg can do for this kind of narrative: show what we've lost, when we haven't yet got around to noticing it's missing.
I have a couple thoughts and questions about this and I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this.
1. Would pedestrian traffic have the same effects as vehicular traffic? It looks like very heavy pedestrian traffic may have similar effects.
2. Does this apply to gated communities? Most of such communities have low traffic, but usually the residents would not stretch their territory to the whole street block as far as I can tell.
3. Does population density of the street play a role in livability? i.e. The buildings portrayed here are of medium-density, and I wonder how it scales as we go towards high density or low density housing.
Thanks!
