Little wonder Jesus encouraged adults to always allow little children to come to Him and that adults be more childlike in their faith. Wonderful, wonderful little storyteller with a great future in God's service! Of heaven are such as these. Out of the mouth of babes...

Marvelous job. I loved the different voices for each person, as well as adjusting her voice according to mood. I thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

Was she reading off of a manuscript, or recalling it all from memory?

    Hi Lindsey!

Is this from a video? It sounds like a Veggie Tales narration of the Bible story! Thanks for sharing.

It's so exciting to see a child who celebrates the Bible with such devotion and skill! I'd love to see what she does with the stories of Jesus and David. I did a one-man show of "King David" off-Broadway last year, and I've been portraying Jesus all year in "The Miracle." But I think I have a thing or two to learn from this little girl! Congratulations!

Lindsey - By the "joy and pride" that teems out of your writing, I am assuming she is your daughter, correct? :)

The reason I asked weather it was from a manuscript or not, was that she got several commonly mistaken details correct, primarily the part about Jonah being swallowed by a "big fish" (as the Bible says) while many (both young and old) tend to assume it was a whale.

You have every reason to be proud of her, and I hope she keeps her love of Biblical history as she grows older as well. It's quite uncommon today, and it's always nice to see people who show their appreciation for it.

Actually the Bible does refer to the great fish as a whale. Only in one reference, but it still does. That reference is in Matthew 12:40 "For as Jonas(Jonah) was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (KJV version) This was something that one of our leaders in my children's class had us research when I was younger, so it has stuck out in my mind many times since then.

Interesting. I decided to look into the matter further, and found this resource: bible.cc/matthew/12-40.htm

It seems as though some translations differ slightly in that segment, yet the main idea remains the same, it was a large sea creature (whether a whale, shark, or any other fish). And if the type of fish had been significant, I'm sure Jonah would have provided greater detail when describing the fish.

But thanks for bringing up that point Sarah, I quite enjoyed the research. :)

And I apologize, I didn't mean to start a debate at all. I just wanted to convey how impressed I am at the girl's attention to detail.
