Could not say one bad thing about any single one of the shots. The jib/slider moves were perfect! Spectacular! Just... wow!
The only thing I had hoped for was just *one* timelapse shot that was not HDR when we saw the whole chapel. HDR is cool but there's something about having black fill the frame when its dark inside, to emphasize the contrast of the light cutting through. Would have loved to see a wide shot of that in the chapel.
Overall though I could not say anything bad about these shots. They were all perfect. Well done.
A really hard work on this video.
Congratulations.
I will have to push my creativity in order to get anywhere near this of course :)
nevertheless, over all - great work!
nevertheless, overall, great comment!
back-handed comments feel shitty huh?
Sorry but I fully agree with Christian here. The HDR is overblown and for me, detracts massively from what could be an incredible piece.
"your comments are good, but this guy's vid is AMAZING and you're imposing as some kind of authority."
So you're not imposing some kind of 'authority' in saying that Christians comments are out of place? Does noone have the right to have dissenting opinion?
"back-handed comments feel shitty huh?"
Now you're just being an arse.
Cool Stuff.
I would like to see a non-HDR version of this short. I can't help but think it would be more special than it already is. Still, incredible work!
Nevertheless, great achievement!!!
anway RESPECT
Love it.
I too think it's a bit to much HDR but hey, who am I to judge?
Those moves are awesome and the environment is breathtaking...
Speaking of moves, I was wondering about the combined slider and tilt shots, what gear did you use to accomplish that?
Thanks for sharing, great work.
Very Good work though!
There sometimes a little flickering going on in the timelapses, have you tried the CHV plugin "Long Exposure" (part of the Time Collection)? I started using it for timelapses a while back and it works like a treat.
Can't wait to get my hands on the slider!
Your slider is on its way!
I have a photography project, it called Essay About Absence, i visit the non-places and i build a stop motion, if you have a time visit my channel - vimeo.com/channels/129994
sorry about my english
Sucess!
The HDR had me questioning whether it was 3D camera projection at times though. But the technique has a neat aesthetic nonetheless.
Stunning as usual! I am hoping you might consider exhibiting here an edit without the HDR effect. It's interesting as it is, but I would be very interested in seeing a less manipulated version. Of course, the footage may have been shot in a way that obviates a more raw edit, but I tend to like a little less manipulation.
I'm wondering, as others including JAG are, why the lovely chapel has fallen into disrepair. Was it damaged in war? Was its congregation displaced?
Anyhow, congratulations on yet another stunning short film. You are quite a talent!
Regarding the church itself - I'll try to post more details about it soon on my blog. Just been a bit busy recently. I'll post URLs here.
thanks
Great work Patryk!
I know how to do timelapse and just today know from you the concept of how to do moving timelapse but in HDR, I have no idea!
Could u explain more on this "shooting in HDR" ? was it while editing the pictures or the video!? and which software do u use for HDR ?
Cheers
