INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion and entertainment.
The film attempts to understand the essence of influence, what makes a person influential without taking a statistical or metric approach.
Written and Directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson, the film is a Polaroid snapshot of New York influential creatives (advertising, design, fashion and entertainment) who are shaping today's pop culture.
"Influencers" belongs to the new generation of short films, webdocs, which combine the documentary style and the online experience.

So some focus on social influence eg. philanthropy, social entrepeneurship, charity, politics etc. would be good subject matter for a future doco perhaps.
Loved that last song! What is it?
Please be my mentor and tell us how you recorded all interviews. Like Is it recorded from a sort of script-like thing, or did you let them just improvising and then made the script for editing? How to get people to talk about the same thing?
thanks in advance!
The truth well told. You know who said that?
Well done! Big shout on my blog and from Melbourne!

i wish it was longer, you guys gotta make it 1 hour long !
You should have interviewed people from Berlin to. ..maybe. I could make you a lot of contacts if you need any.
Good work so fare!
Thank you.
This film tells me that R+I Creative is one of the smarter creative agencies because they went the extra mile to prove they know what they are talking about by making this film. They in-fact, made an inspiring short film that has effected many of the people with the "cool" ideas. The film appears to come from within the indi-film/art culture itself as opposed to a company wanting to profit off of it.
Now it might sound like I disagree with what R+I Creative has done here. I do not. I enjoyed this short. In another forum, I'd commend and applaud this film. On vimeo, a sight for filmmakers, I think its as important that we understand the true purpose of a film, not just its "point."
To break these things down and understand how they work will help you get jobs. Most filmmakers never get to make a film, they are expensive. Filmmakers historically have relied on corporations to fund their craft. So, while it is important for corporations to understand the influential individuals, it's just as important for filmmakers to understand the companies who profit by helping corporations to understand us.
As a filmmaker, you are an influencer. This is what a corporation wants to harness more than anything: the power to influence someone to purchase their product. However, corporate employees are so out of touch, as stated in this film, that they NEED creative agencies to connect them with influential minds. If they can get the influential minds to tout their brand as "cool" voila, the money rolls right in.
Kudos to R+I Creative. By making this film, they are an "Influencer." Very creative.
i'd say that this piece does something differently than analyze the artist and designer and the magic of the creative process. they look at the impact and what it is and how it works. i think it's rad for that reason. they take a different approach and it's fresh on a lot of levels.
cheers
