This piece creates a new context for Poppers' slogans "Embrace your inner jalapeno" and "just the right kick"...
This was the winning short for the Heinz RFB (through geniusrocket.com)

Great work, is this a student piece or an actual commission?
  • Kirsten Lepore 1 year ago
Not a student piece...I answered an RFB for Heinz on this site called Geniusrocket.com. So it was a little bit like a contest.

Very Creative... I mean... think about...
How do you make a commercial to sell a jalepeno product? That's not an easy concept to grasp... but... you just did... and, did it well.

You are very talented...How does one go about making the lips move and eyes pop out? I'm so clueless, as I've only taken interest in the idea of venturing into animation, recently.

Is there a program or insightful sites you would recommend to someone interested in fiddling with animation?
  • Kirsten Lepore 11 months ago
most of the lip and eye movements were shot stopmotion-style with the rest of the animation. A select few facial elements were added later in after effects (a compositing program). If you're interesting in playing around with stopmotion, then I'd recommend using istopmotion. It's relatively cheap and produces good results. The program is also useful for shooting traditional animation as well. If you're interested in that type of animation, basically all you need is a light table, paper, and a camera!
