Matthew's historical novel of first contact between shamans and Jesuits in 18th century South America titled, Land Without Evil, has been published in hard cover by Charles Publishing, and has received rave reviews along with a San Diego Book Award for mainstream fiction. Land Without Evil has also been chosen as a top book pick for the Paraguayan embassy, is recommended reading in over a dozen high school and college English departments throughout the United States, and is included as a Reading Group Choices selection. Matthew has also been chosen as Man of the Year 2000 for San Diego Writer's Monthly Magazine. He frequently visits the jungles of Yucatan, Chiapas, and Eastern Peru pursuing his studies of shamanism.
Matthew's work has also appeared in numerous publications. His fiction has been featured in The San Diego Union Tribune, and his work has been heard on KPBS-FM in San Diego, on KUCI-FM in Irvine, on the Paul Rodriguez show, a nationally syndicated talk show, on the Susan Cameron Block Show in Vancouver, and on the Environmental Directions Radio series. He recently taped a half hour television show about fading cultures on ECONEWS Network that will go out to 30 million homes via PBS satellite.
Guy, often referred to as a master "heart opener", has a singing voice that is both penetrating and soothing. His singing style is expressive, sweet, and comes from the deepest part of the soul. His new CD, "Life Without Time", will be released shortly.
