iPad Photoshoot

Thanks for the passionate comments. I realize this is impractical. We made some pretty pictures with unlikely light sources. It's all about what you do with what you have. Read more about this shoot here: jesserosten.com/2010/ipad-photoshoot

I'm going to try this with one iPad : ) is this the flashlite app?
What's next in your bag of tricks Jesse?
PS: thanks for the Redhead lovin!
And you have 3 light point! if you buy LED light plan 1 by1 foot cost $ 2000 each. 3 well cost $6000.
don't take it bad, i have been a bit rough on the ipad process, but I find the pictures quite good. :)
Being fed up with the ipad has nothing to do with your work.
My bad.
;)
Sincerly.
PS.
There wasn't enough iPads in this commercial to convince me to iPads.
Thanks for showing us something unique, Jesse.
Mind if I ask which DSL it was shot on?
What was your WB setting? Apple green? :)
what is the point of this?
Keep up the experiences.
Great piece Jesse - keep up the awesome mate.
Keep doing what you're doing.
Cheers.
Perhaps some of the negative comments can be explained by the issue a lot of smaller photographers have, in that they/we can barely afford alien bees and they/we struggle just to get the necessary gear, so seeing something like this which MAY seem extravagant and elitist with all the ipads and assistants, it can make some people feel defensive because of economical and status reasons that they may feel separates you from them.
But as far as a marketing and public relations concept.video, I know i viewed it, i know other photographers who viewed it, and so now i know of you, and i guess in the end this piece did its job.
The video quality if beautiful for sure, and the model, wow.
Couple of thoughts: One does not need $4500 worth of iPads to make a good photo. My hope is that people will see how we could make decent images using a very unlikely and impractical light source. If we can do it with iPads certainly you can do it with a cheap strobe, or a light bulb, or a glow stick, or some tinfoil. The idea is to get creative with what you have.
Other than a camera, there's no such thing as "necessary gear." There are no rules. Unfortunately, buying more gear will not make you a better photographer.
This is not a marketing video. This is how I spent a rainy afternoon with some friends. The vid is my attempt to share the idea and hopefully inspire others to create.

Thanks again for the thoughtful response, Jeremy. Good luck in your endeavors!

but to my shame, it's not ipad yet... but hey, it displays only one color...
I appreciate your creativeness and good spirit! People always try to bring you down, no matter what you do and I love that you just brush them off with humor and wit. I am also a photographer and know that it's outstanding to find new ways to shoot! I thank you for sharing this, what an inspiration you are!
It's creative which is all that matters.
Lovely model, great pictures and I love the dog!
(kinda stupid) but funny.
