These days the new prosperity gospel making the rounds as churches struggle financially is the "give and live" tithing gospel. This says that the requirement to fully enjoy your relationship to God, and to avoid the OT curses of the Israelites, is a Christian MUST give a minimum of 10% to their church. To not give 10% is a serious sin which will heap many problems on a Christian and his/her family.
