Every year hundreds of people are hit in NYC by cars. Dozens of cyclists and more than an hundred pedestrians are killed by motorists who, in all but very rare instances, are not prosecuted.
If New York is to ever be a truly bike and pedestrian friendly city, a new mode shift must be initiated so that those who commit murder with their personal automobiles are held accountable.
