Same algorthm as splatter processing with the following exceptions:
1. Three colors/types of elements
2. There's a 50 pixel no-affect zone where elememts neither repel nor attract.
3. Instead of semi-transparent ellipsoids, I used beizer curves from the last position to current, with control points halfway along the adjacent side of a right triange constructed using current and previous position (probably a better way to do this).
