Some test footage to see how my set-up would hold up in low light in a forest while shooting for slow motion and fast action.

It was so dark that I had to boost the gain up to 12db on my XHA1 and could not use 1/120th for the slow motions. I had to go down to 1/50th so the slow motions are a bit blurred.

It would be good to hear opinions on this i.e the noise levels, brightness, blur etc

Is this what you shot on saturday? Personally I love it. I cant offer any objective criticism on a "noise/blur" etc level but for me it looks amazingly natural - how I see local dh in my head. Stylisticaly I prefer it to the fist vid of Rosco you posted for that reason. I'd love to see more.

Hi James, this was shot on the Wednesday before when it was pissing down. I'm still checking out the footage i got on Saturday. It was very hard to keep focus when shooting Colin, but hopefully it will be ok

I like the motion blur. It would be nice to less blur in non moving frame elements. It seems to strobe is that the footage as you see it on your system or is that in the vimeo compresion and 25 fps

this is awesome, is this all stock footage? no presets etc? Where did you buy your camera from? Im in the middle of deciding between the xha1 and the xha1s and for some reason the videos on vimeo look better for the xha1 than the xha1s.

Glad to finally see a low light MTB clip. The colors look great. No harsh shadows, nothing washed out. The wet trail also adds depth and contrast to the image. I have been thinking about shooting when overcast in the woods and this clip really makes me think that is the way to go.
