Abschied is the last piano piece (Nr.9) of Waldszenen op. 82 from my new album "Waldszenen op. 82 & Kinderszenen opus 15". It is a musical masterpiece. We hear the lyricism of Schumann at his highest level. In the deep emotion of the melody and harmony, we hear sadness and disappointment.

When I recorded this piece my thoughts were with my 18 year old cat Mich who died in August 2010. She died of a fatal disease. In consultation with doctor Lydia Muyshondt we decided to give her an injection so she left this earth without pain.
