On Saturday, 30 August we were honoured on two counts ...

#1 - We got to be a part of Alex and Danika's beautiful wedding day in Armidale

#2 - We got to shoot beside the awesome and super-fun James Day - jamesday.com.au

James was the official photographer for the day with Katie 2nd shooting - and I tagged along with my video cameras for the fun of it.

Here's a short teaser/trailer I put together using some of my favourite shots from the day.

Cameras Used: Canon XH-A1 and Canon HV30+Brevis

Wow! Looked great! What shots did you use the hv30 on? Clips blended well. Do you find it easer to get more run and gun shots with the adapter and hv30? What do you like about the XHA1?

About half the shots were the HV30+Brevis. The ones that weren't were the hand shots at the start, the bride running shot, the house shots and the kissing shots at the end. Yep, the HV30+Brevis is much easier to run and gun that the A1+Brevis. Too many things to list when it comes to what I like about the A1. It's an awesome camera and one of (if not the) best in it's class. Very good bang for your buck.

Every video I've seen of yours is fantastic. I've been looking at the 0:04 shot and I'm assuming that you opened the exposure all the way on the Hv30, but when I do that, even with the Brevis and a 50mm lens pointed at a figure silhouetted against a sunset lens flare, I can't get that kind of orange wash. Can I ask you, what lens do you use, and what exactly do you do in post to emphasize the effect?

Thanks William! With that shot I'm pretty sure I just exposed for the couple and didn't worry about the rest. The lens I'm using is a Nikon 50mm 1.8. The orangeness is definitely enhanced in post by really pushing the colours pretty hard. I'm just in love with what happens when I point the HV30+Brevis+50mm lens at the sun. Sometimes it does the craziest things!
