Some of the displacement camps around the Rift Valley in Kenya. Thousands lost their homes, land and lives during the political unrest back in Feb 2008.
Shot on a Sony 750. Didn't like it at all! I prefer the Varicam.

This has a great look, although I grieve with you when I see how vimeo lightens up all the blacks.

What didn't you like about the 750? I liked the look of 2 Days in Paris, that was shot on the 750.

Hi Adam. Love what you did with this clip although I felt like I shouldn't of as the plight of these poor people makes me feel guilty for the privileged life I live. Still a very powerful piece of work. Congratulations......

Thanks to everyone who commented. Yes it does instill a sense of guilt, even more so when you are there filming them.
When you hear the terrifying stories of children being raped and murdered, thats when the horrors of these camps really takes hold as its really easy to become de sensitized and detached from it all, especially looking through a black and white viewfinder.

as someone once said, "I was only eyes behind the camera..." meaning the paradox of the journalist documenting a plight. Gripping stuff Adam and love the sense of presence and proximity you get like that boy on the open pushing the wheel with the stick for it's momentum. Strong and inspiring stuff just as Iran...
