A new synagoue for Mainz - 72 years after the destruction of the old synagoue dedication ceremonies were held this fall. Sunday, 07 Nov. 2010 was the second "Open House"-day to accomodate thousands of additional visitors that didn't get in the time the synagogue was open for public viewing.
The building consists of numerous parts which together resemble the word "Kedusha" - which means something close to holiness. A tower on one side vaguely resembles the the shape of a Shofar.
