Agape is
- divine, unconditional, active, and thoughtful love
- self-sacrificing love of God for humanity
- selfless love
- love of God or Christ for mankind
- love that brings forth caring regardless of circumstance
- no hesitations, no distractions
- total devotion

It is in the process of being worshiped that God communicates himself to man.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-41)
