R.A.D. stands for Route And Description--an exercise any NOLS student will be very familiar with. As students get ready to take on more leadership of a travel day, they learn how to make plans for their route, estimate the length of their travel, and choose their destinations. This video will show you the process of completing a R.A.D. plan for a hiking day on a course at NOLS Southwest.
