This is a short animation I made during my Masters in Animation. It is an Every-Purpose Invasion Craft (EPIC). Dubbed the 'Titan Ship', it is a transforming Octopede carrier vessle and siege unit.

I was experimenting with new animation controllers in Max and the fumefx plugin which was used to do the reentry sequence and the ships booster rockets.

I ran short of time and so the last sequence doesn't show off all the animation atributes, such as each and every turret having independent movement and fire animations.
