ILoveSketch, a 3D curve sketching system that captures some of the affordances of pen and paper for professional designers, allowing them to iterate directly on concept 3D curve models. The system coherently integrates existing techniques of sketch-based interaction with a number of novel and enhanced features. Novel contributions of the system include automatic view rotation to improve curve sketchability, an axis widget for sketch surface selection, and implicitly inferred changes between sketching techniques. We also improve on a number of existing ideas such as a virtual sketchbook, simplified 2D and 3D view navigation, multi-stroke NURBS curve creation, and a cohesive gesture vocabulary.

Nicely done. The sketch pad looks like it would feel very fluid and organic. Very beautiful lines.

I really, really like this concept. I wonder how long, if ever it will take the Blender community to implement something like this. I'd love to be able to play with it myself, but not at the price of Maya. (...and I do mean that both in terms of money and software bloat/inefficiency.)

Seok-Hyung Bae, I hope your work will rock the world!

You've just streamlined my design workflow by leaps and bounds! Sweet work, 'specially if you *seamlessly* integrate it into a competent, full featured modeller app (blender, please? :-D ) the power would be explosive! Great work and cheers on your efforts!

That is fantastic curve interface, very natural.

That is the most exciting thing I've seen in computer interface technology since Jeff Hahn's multitouch display. (perceptivepixel.com). I can't wait to get my hands on something like that, though judging from the amount of PhDs that researched this and the staggering amount of research they have done regarding this amazing technology means that the price tag for this is going to be as amazing as the interface.

But one day I will possess this technology, and it will be good.

Hopefully this will be more useful than multitouch, which has sustained years of hype by showing the same two tasks over and over: rotating and zooming.

wowza. That has the possibility to revolutionize 3D modelling, or a way for 2D animators to incorpoarate 3D into their work. Wonder if that's on the cards. or if it's just a sketching program?

Looks like it has a lot of potential, but it'd be nice to have more detail about the rules it uses for the automatic behavior. For instance, it's not clear why it sometimes automatically creates symmetical mirrored elements, but other times they must be manipulated manually (even though the mode has not apparently changed).

3-D modeling could stand some serious improvement in the UI area, and this looks like a very good effort.

this is historical. A breaktrough for desiging! I can't wait to get this one

umm, he was using a Cintiq... :) But yeah excellent program, please let us know if you plan to release it! An export function to some kind of go between format would be great so that all the modeling apps can access the end results.

    Cheers,
