"La Serva Padrona" / Opera Guild Of San Antonio - Opera In The Schools Programs
1 year ago
Opera for Middle and High School Students
The Opera Guild offers several programs each year which appeal to middle and high school students.
In 2010, over 15,000 San Antonio students and their teachers/chaperones attended an opera performance free of charge as part of
the Guild's Opera in the Schools programs.
This year, the Guild gave a contribution to Musical Bridges Around the World for a student performance of a baroque opera.
"La Serva Padrona" an opera production from the Mercury Baroque Orchestra of Houston, Texas, offered on October 4, 2010 at
10 AM at the Edgewood Academy in the Edgewood School District.
This performance was available to students
and their teachers.
The opera comes to the Guild thanks to
Musical Bridges Around the World. It had costumes, scenery and an early music ensemble providing the music.
