Moniack Mhor sits high on a hill in Invernesshire. Its thick stone walls take the full brunt of the prevailing weather as it sweeps over from the distant mountains of Wester Ross and across the valley below. Those same walls enclose a living and working space used several times a year by creative writing organisation, The Arvon Foundation.

Founded by the poets, John Moat and John Fairfax, and given the early boon of Ted Hughes' own hands on endorsement, 2008 marks the year of the foundation's 40th anniversary.

This short film celebrates a Travel Writing course held at Moniack Mhor during July of that year, and features Rory Stewart, Mhairi Hedderwick, sixteen disparate wordsmiths....and the Scottish weather.
