This is a continuous take of our veneer panel mfg. plant. Veneer panels consist of 2 sheets of decorative veneer, pressed onto a particleboard or MDF core.
Our customers are primarily architectural, furniture and store fixture manufactures, and the odds are good that you've seen our plywood in a department store, hotel or piece of furniture (especially if you live in North America).
My oldest brother, Jeff, started the company when he was 16, and when I joined in 1994, there were only 6 of us working there (including my other brother, Chad, aka, "Sawdust Cannon Chad").
Of special note is our feed-through ring press (@3:00) which, if you were to put a bathroom scale in it, is capable of 1.2 MIIILLLLIIIOOONN lbs. of pressure (544,000kg).
Also, we've recently added 2 robots (@4:15) to automate our cutting, labeling and sanding processes. These were a total out-of-the-box solution, conceived by Chad (aka, "Grease Monkey Phenom"), and no one in our industry is doing anything similar to this. We have 2 more robots that we'll be installing soon, to assist with moving veneer sheets, handling inventory... and to facilitate with the eventual Robotic Uprising of 2029!
