Opened in 1925, Forest Haven served as both a child development center and a mental institution. In 1991, the facility was closed down by the Federal Court for its poor conditions and notorious abuse of patients. There have since been over 350 reported cases of abuse or neglect by former inhabitants of the institution. The hospital is now completely abandoned. I journeyed out to Forest Haven with two friends and shot this video... which does not do it justice. Filmed with a Canon 550d. For more information, see:
