In My Shoes is a short film produced by Pro Consultancy and Rawmarsh CLC. The film is made by Paul Oxborough, James Stier and a group of young people who live in Rawmarsh.
Rawmarsh is a large village in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, in South Yorkshire, England. It is two miles north of Rotherham and has a population of 18,210.
The CLC wanted to show the views and feelings of young people in the community. This was accomplished by involving local teenagers in the film making process, both in front of and behind the lens.
The result was a gritty and real account that focuses on what young people growing up in a deprived area do, think and feel.
The success of the film at various award ceremonies in 2010 is a testament to the hard work the entire group put in to what was very touching and personal journey.
