Have you seen the UK shot content? You can find both a promotional film and world's first short film at televisual.com? This is a game changer
  •
  • Mikko Löppönen 1 year ago
    awesome!
  •
  • Cosimo Bullo plus 1 year ago
Hmmm... while totally blown away by the england/romance shoot, this one looked decidedly worse in the blacks; a lot of noise the other didn't seem to have. Is that the color timing? The quality of the upload to vimeo?
  • Dan Forsley 1 year ago
    Cosimo
Noise? If only my eyes were as good.
Please guide to as to where in the shoot you see a "lot of noise". I have much to learn.
  • Paul Slabaugh 1 year ago
...the dark sky in final shot? Blocky compression artifacting is nearly always present in dark grey expanses ... it's not the camera's bad.
  • Robert Nyerges 1 year ago
Lets just remember that this video was most likely heavily compressed and is streaming virally...
  •
  • Henry Olonga plus 1 year ago
This camera gets better and better. Wow. This is one special imager

  • Now it's time to sell my EX1...

  •
  • My God, this is so good!
  •
  • Dan Carter plus 1 year ago
I'm sorry, but I'm unimpressed. To me the footage is lacking any degree of sharpness, especially the landscape clips.
  • Mario Rodriguez 1 year ago
That is a good question. was it defused on purpose? I think some shots could be.
  •
  • Ben Carrigan 1 year ago
wow thats is truly an amazing piece of kit!
  •
  • Little lack of sharpness, but amazing quality even with Vimeo compression.

  • Michael B. McGee 1 year ago
    what lenses did you use?

The city at night shots were breathtaking and truly show what this camera on the tutelage of the right eye and hands can do. Superb!

  • Crooked Path Films plus 1 year ago
Would love to download the 1920x1080 file and watch in screening room. Just can't see anything in the footage that our 5d can't produce. This camera should be priced at 6k for it to be worthwhile, IMO, otherwise I'll pass.
  • HDVdiver 1 year ago
Agreed! Now maybe if it had a Global shutter...
  • Totally agree. What's all the fuss about? A Super 35 sensor? Why the Long GOP codec? The 1080HD resolution? The relatively ordinary bit rate? I'd sooner have a few more 5Ds and a RedRock Micro M3 for my EX3 than this on the strength of this showing.
  • RubioStudios plus 1 year ago
    Totally agree.

  • Nick Evans 1 year ago
    Sweet!

    Great shots.

    Good work.

  • Jacob Bryant 1 year ago
It looks great but the chromatic adoration is pretty bad when wide open so wondering what lens was used?
    Sorry a bit off topic...
  •
  • Alex 1 year ago
does any one notes that image look like EX3 with Super35 sensor????? the color is not even good as 5d2...................................I am going save money for red......
  •
  • Robert Nyerges 1 year ago
What ISO was used for the night time aerial photography over LA??
  •
  • Luis Troitiño plus 1 year ago
    16k is very expensive. :(

i would like to know what steadycam you were using... ?
    thanks!
  •
  • HDVdiver 1 year ago
Nice...but I don't see anything that a well hacked GH1 couldn't do. Maybe even sharper.

The Night Shots are definitely amazing!
  •
  • Paul D 1 year ago
Looks too much like blown-out video.
    The highlights are vile...
Where is the beautiful burn-out as seen on other F3 videos?
This one looks almost as nasty as the AF100 demos so far

Still looks like video, even an EX3 film 35mm adapter gives a more cinematic image. nice video but the camera disappoints. Time to wait for Scarlet and see what that is all about.
  •
  • Myles Thompson plus 1 year ago
Nice camera I'm sure. Hard to compare just on the web though.

    It's the RED killer...
  • IE·DNlab 1 year ago
I guess, you never filmed with a RED?
Sorry, but even if the film itself is pretty good - the quality of the footage is anything else than acceptable.
It´s blurry, has bendings and CA´s, Carlos.
Long time ago, I did see such disappoiting footage;)
  • Carlos Osterling 10 months ago
I feel the same way... Shooting with Red is something else. This looks nice for a small camera, but has no sharpness and it's too expensive for a small cam.
  •
  • Chanh wook Han 1 year ago
    It' awesome !! Beautiful!!
still, digital look still remains noticeably

  • Jacana Productions 1 year ago
I think it's hard to tell how good any footage is here on the interwebs. For example, how was it encoded, did the person use a regular encoder that shipped with Final Cut or CS5 or a fancy MainConcept like encoder, etc ....
Is this camera 4x better than the AF100, is the AF100 4 x as better than the GH2?

Having said that, it looks pretty good to me and the detail in the shadow is excellent.

We all need fiber, let's move to S.Korea!
  •
  • Jay Vides 1 year ago
Why can't they drop an ND grad, open the aperture and see some details in the shadows?
  •
  • Steve Smith 1 year ago
Why would you want to spend $13000.00 dollars body only with no lenses for a camera when you can get a Canon 5D mark II for $2000.00? I just cant wait to see what the Mark III will offer.
  • Pietro Impagliazzo 1 year ago
Less jello, less aliasing, more DR, a proper video camera body, proper inputs, list goes on...

There's also the AF100, but the image characteristics of that one doesn't please me all that either, even though the 1080p60 is a great feature.

And well, if the features of this camera doesn't interest you, that's another thing.

And the statement "the human eye can only see so much" is silly, specially referring to the 5D, a camera full of flaws that barely resolves 1.2K.
  • Sage 1 year ago
I think Steve meant to say 'when you can get a GH2 for $800?' ;)
And if so, that would definitely be a solid Q
  • Steve Smith 1 year ago
If you have the right gear you can get all the inputs you need with the Mark II and still cheaper than this camera. Also its not silly that the human eye can really only pick up so many pixels. The eye has around 576,000,000 pixels but when you look at a TV that is displaying 720P and one beside it is displaying 1080P there is no way you can actually see a difference. They can pick up differences in Shadows, highlights, color, density. I have seen on the big screen the same shots done on the Red and on 35mm and you could not tell the difference in quality. Why do you think they mix the Mark II and the Red with 35mm film? People can't tell the difference trust me.
  • Steve Smith 1 year ago
There a some great features on the GH2 but I will stick with Canon since I have invested so much in lenses for the camera.
  • Sage 1 year ago
    You are in luck:
    eoshd.com/content/504-Birger-Canon-to-AF100-adapter-to-also-support-GH1-and-GH2

Funny how when the balloon bounces into the scene against the wall next to the boy the balloon has no helium in it. After he ties a string onto it there is suddenly helium in the balloon.

I see allot of cannon 5d comments here must be from cannon employees as there is no comparison in pro features on the %D's 7D's. If this is over budget then the NEX FS 100 will kill the DSLR Devotee's I think this footage for being highly compressed look excellent. Certainly well shot!
