Rabbits Don't Like Chips
Rabbits Don't Like Chips is the latest film from Rob Francis in collaboration with Jessica Dance. It is a playful fashion film intended to promote Jessica's new hand made accessory collection called The Woolery Collection. It is made using ethically sourced hand died angora (bunny) wool, the reason for the name.
The film depicts a girl (played by Natasha Mei Ling Chung) in her day to day life dancing and meandering around the dreary seaside town in which she lives. Unlike many other fashion films there is a narrative structure that draws you through the film. It takes you on an escapist journey and attempts to show you the world through the eyes of the young designer. The backdrop to the film is intentionally mundane in contrast to Jessica's bright and bold statement pieces and the films playful story line.

Tech info:
The film was shot at 50fps and conformed to 25fps, certain shots were further slowed down in After Effects to quarter of the original speed. keeping everything either full/half/quater speed meant that all the dancing would be in time with the music. Other than slow motion and basic grading in MB looks no effects were applied to the film. The shots which have flare in were shot using the lens whacking technique.
It was shot in a day and edited in aprox 2 days, Jessica made the rabbit costume using lots of hair extensions.
