In the garden, John James attempts to ensure Josie will spend the night with him. Josie tells John James that she's ashamed of how she's acting, going after him. John James tells her that he doesn't mind what she's doing, he feels very comfortable with her, more comfortable that he would feel with most people. He tells her that he doesn't believe she could know whether she fancies him or not from being in the house, which Josie interprets as him telling her that he doesn't fancy her. On the highlights show they make it seem like John James is giving her the brush-off, but he's clearly not. He goes on to tell her how much he would miss sleeping with her if he was evicted. John James asks her if she really wants to have sex with him in the house, because if she does, he's willing, but not in favor of it. They then go on to talk about Rachel's eviction and John James tells Josie he's going to start acting more appreciative of being there, since the public has saved him again.
John James tells Josie he doesn't feel comfortable sleeping with her in just his boxers, she seems very comfortable in bed with him when he's in just his boxers. They go on to talk about evictions and what's going to happen with the uneven number of males vs. females. They then discuss how upset Mario was when Sam Pepper was the center of attention when he was dancing in the Dickens party. John James tells Josie he feels he did the right thing not finishing the Miss Haversham task, since Rachel ended up being evicted and she got to spend her remaining time with her friends. John James concludes that he's going to be more appreciative of being there since the public have decided to keep him over other people.
