This was a flight taken in the spring of 2009 to Ahou Bay Beach on Vargas Island. (Off the west coast of British columbia's Vancouver Island) Not all beaches are good for landing, but Vargas is a flat and hard packed beach. Following the beach landing a return through the MacKenzie Mountain Range to the East side of Vancouver Island and my home airport of Nanaimo. (CYCD) There was a lot of smoke in the air due to forest fires, hence the severe haze at times. The aircraft is a homebuilt Bushby Mustang ll, that I completed in the spring of 1981.
