Zoom Test
This is my first test of the DIY MoCo Zoom Prototype: vimeo.com/1724374 Overall a success I think. The lens does wander around a bit, but that can be fixed in the next version of the mount, if I ever get around to re-inventing it. I'd rather get my hands on a 150-500 zoom lens and play with even more range! Some of the vibration comes from my precarious location: a freeway ramp seen here:

As far as the video goes, not a lot of cars out on the road at 2:30am. I shot everything in manual, focus set to infinity although exif data suggests I may have bumped the focus ring before I started.

Update: Doh, just read the text :)
Very nice gadget, though.
Talking of crazy projects, have you given any thought to a track/dolly setup? Joey did a good one a little while ago, and combining this with a pan & zoom system, well that would be the nuts!
Good work man, looking forward to seeing more stuff with this device ;-)
