Melvin's daughter cracks me up. In the begining of the video, if your speakers are turned up and you tell the guy in the cube across from yours to shut up you can just barely hear her ask her dad,
"Did you invite them?"
"Yep"
"Just for like a fiesta with the airplanes one day?"
Onward, to the Fiesta Bowl we go across the road, up a steep bank and around the horn where you can do touch and go's and face the direction you came from as you climb out. It's Melvin's own little airplane skate park.
We went back yesterday for more fun and measured the steepest part. It was 25 degrees but mostly just around 15-18 degrees as shown by Don and his fancy contraption. You don't want to slow down too much while riding the angle on a slope like that unless you're ready to peel it up to the top.
It was kind of a gusty day for knobs and bowls. We packed it up and left. I was the last man on the hill and thought i was alone, filming John's take-off. With the wind in my ears Dick snuck up me.
I don't think snuck is a word but i'm gonna use it.
Also please note the bowl has an alias known as Coffin Corner. Mr. Graham prefers to call it that and it's pretty fitting on a windy day, or on a day you just want to kick off the tail springs and taxi really slow across the side-slope.
