The 21st of November we decided to install various bike lanes in the center of Madrid.

What we wanted to show through our action, Safe Pedalling is quite clear: in the center of our city there is no possibility of safely riding a bicycle, to do this you must travel to the outlying neighborhoods, making cycling a weekend activity rather than a real method of transport.

To carry this out, we chose 3 central streets, we waited until they were empty of cars and we installed hundreds of flashing red bicycle lights forming a central lane which we marked with the bike lane icon.

We hope that some nighttime cyclist was able to make use of these provisional bike lanes.
