I shot these tests with a schnieder ND.9EF81 real glass filter. its about twice as thick as the original Lee resin ND.9 I used on the first tests. I also did a lot of shots in 720p60 and slowed them down to 24FPS. what suprised me was the compression artifacts that jumped out. you can't see them from this encode, but they where there. in fact on one shot with a white pickup, there is some brick behind it that moired in the original, but its mostly gone in the edited / compressed version. very weird, worthy of some investigation. I will say I saw more compression artifacts in 720p60@24 then I expected. The areas that were worst were actually any thing out of focus, or gradient areas like sky. not visible on my h264 HD clip or on vimeo here.
