There are some fundamental principles regarding the construction of an acoustically healthy society, one where we can exist within the sounds of life. Respect towards voice and words, sonic awareness, the awakening of the sense of hearing. To preserve the sounds that tend to fade out, while remaining open to the sounds that spring out of each technological stride. To build an aural idiom that interprets its own symbolism. To accept the silence, enforcing it in the due moments. And, above all else, to listen.

    Vivemos rodeados por uma cacofonia que só suportamos porque a nossa atenção a desfoca e elide.
    O filme pensa muito bem o som, o ruído e o silêncio.
    Quanto mais pessoas o "ouverem" melhor, porque é um bom filme.

    Wow, excellent work Raquel! This video was brought to my attention by a fellow sound designer, and I'm so glad I've been able to experience this, as it has (increadibly) opened my ears (I thought they were already at their peak) to the sounds around me. Beside the discussions of audio, I really dug how you shot and edited the interviews, namely your avoidance of the traditional interview shot, where all there is are talking heads, one after another; your montages and effects on various clips was very well done, especially with the mixture of the sounds to accompany them. Thank you for refreshing my view/hearing towards ambient sound and noise, and I hope you continue producing powerful works such as this!
