Khadija Warsame fled the civil war in Somalia in 1994. With her three children, she lived in a refugee camp in Malawi for six years before finally being accepted by Canada, a country that she knew nothing about. She was sponsored by two Peterborough churches and has lived in the city for the past 11 years. She works supporting other immigrants new to the city in need of help and advice.
In this clip she reflects on life in Peterborough, Canadian culture, and how she deals with those who have problems with immigrants.
