Nancy Travis is best known for her movies roles like, "Three Men and a Baby" and "So I Married an Axe Murderer." But, she’s taken on a dramatic role for the NBC family film "A Walk in My Shoes" (8:00 p.m. ET/PT), starring as a world-weary teacher, who has little sympathy for a mom who seems apathetic to her son’s education.

That is until she steps into the mother’s shoes and experiences what it’s like to be a single parent trying make ends meet financially while raising her son.

For Travis, it was an opportunity to explore two separate characters in one pic. And in the video below, the actress also explains why it’s important to take life slower, why Wal-Mart and Procter and Gamble have teamed up for a series of family movies for the network and why her passion for acting is still motivating her to go after interesting parts.
