Last night when I was biking home I ran over a huge possum with my bike. dalas witnessed the whole thing and does a great job of reenacting the scene.

    I once almost ran over a mother possum with little baby possums on her back. I had plenty of room to swerve and miss.

    OK, so this was what I was thinking. Don't possums generally move very slowly, in an undecided fashion. Was there no last possible out for anja to miss the poor guy? Did he lie down to play "possum" and you seized the opportunity?

    It was dark, and I just wasn't looking in the right direction in order to see him coming. I didn't want to run him over! By the time I realized he was there I was basically on top of him. It was such a weird moment!

    dalas' family originally came over from Spain and settled in Calif.....many years ago....I believe it was a land grant from the king : )

    This has to be one of the best re-enactments EVER!
    But yeah, Opossums are creepy and if that happened to me, i would pedal off screaming into the night
