Why? The part achieved with 7D is "only" the picture. This really slow slo-mo was achieved in post-production in Adobe AfterEffects via Twixtor slo-mo plugin.
  • Heitor 1 year ago
think he thought the 7d makes actual 2000 fps clips lol
  • Robin 1 year ago
    not really!

can not believe you used EFS 18-135 mm LOL

    Wow, that is just stunning!

I would be very curious what 30fps or 24fps slowed down looks like.
  • marc plus 1 year ago
it gets lots of motion blurrr
say thanks to me . i found it for u.

    vimeo.com/15534993
  • D.M Hughes 1 year ago
That looks like quite a dark scene, I bet the shutter speed wasn't much more than 1/60... So that would cause the blur.
  • Brad Womack 6 months ago
30 fps causes blur because the frames must be duplicated. At 60 FPS, twixtor can interpolate those frames to make them smooth. You pay for it in rendering however.
  •
  • Daniel Moran 1 year ago
that is ridiculous. Love the way the rain looks slowed down to this speed. Great Job!

    shutter speed, and framerate?
  • Jon Kuritz 9 months ago
The rain is sick but fake. haha its made with trapcode particular.

0:31 to 0:56 is absolutely stunning!

How did you manage to get it slowed down to such a point that the rain looks as sharp and crisp as it does? How did get it to contrast it with the fast clouds?

    Very beautiful!
  • Alessandro Bricoli 1 year ago
The rain isn't real mate :)
  • Edward Khoma plus 1 year ago
Yeh I think He used the "CC Mr. Mercury" In After Effects to simulate the rain, it looks great.
  • Martin Raanhuis plus 1 year ago
No its Particular 2, Mr. Mercury doesn't behave like that.
Particular 2 is amazing, I really gotta buy that one sometime soon.

Wish I could pull this stuff off with my 5D. 30FPS make it a lot more difficult. Nice vid man. BTW.. 2000FPS and fast moving clouds?? 00:43
  • shelbysmith plus 1 year ago
probably masked in the clouds or something, im interested to know too
  • Matthew Dennison 1 year ago
Masking probably, keep your eye on the fork at :41
and the back of the white shirt changes a bit

    Anyways--holy balls.
  • Thats not masking. The theory is using of Trackmattes on After effects. then removes custom alpha channels and replace subject with sky . . .

    Cheers . .

nice work... but, 2000 fps and the 7D?

Twixtor, you have such an amazing skill to use it.

It saddens me that I possess the same equipment you do but I can't even come close to what you can produce.

Starting @ 0:32 my mind started imploding at 2 Million FPS shown in 24fps for my soul to explore.

This, dude... This is the best and funniest comment ever. I had to read through it three times :D
  • Philip Han 1 year ago
It's true though, you should come on over here and watch it with me! I'm only 3 hours in of the first second :]

I try my best but I just wish I could do it with my videos...
One day though, one day I will be graced with such a comment though!

I'm really interested in seeing more of your stuff too!
There aren't many Women doing such a geeky hobby as many think it is, it really is if you come to think of it! Hahaha

My only problem is the follow-through. That's the absolute reason I can't get much done, but that'll pan out some day soon. Ideas, Inspiration, and Innovation is what I bleed ;]

  • Jakob Konrad 1 year ago
ah yeah. and you should change the camera position for the rain on 0:40. falling in the same direction as before, makes it look false. ( btw i am super critical here. love the shots and the cc is great. cant wait to get my 7D for christmas! )

I've played with Twixtor plenty and can't get close to the quality that you continue to produce with it.

    Excellent work.
  • Use twixtor for subjects moving with clean background. ex : against sky or plane wall or something clean background like that. It hides the slow motion artifacts of twixtor . .

great concept and even better execution. and the blend of high-speed and time-lapse is quite unique and beautiful. i don't know what sacred settings you're using with Twixtor but it seems to create great results.

i can only imagine the possibilities with this shooting style and some form of narrative structure. keep on, keeping on.
