Wanjiru Kamau-Rutenberg is a Professor at the University of San Francisco and founder/director of Akili Dada, a non profit based in Kenya, preparing for leadership the next generation of Kenyan/African women leaders.

This presentation, made at the Global Fund for Women in San Francisco brings to critical analysis new concepts of philanthropy for Africa - the "Opera" model of leadership training and how Africa continues to per perpetually presented in Western media/charity work.
