"Sam Rockwell, the edgy and talented actor, stopped by his dad's old workplace -- the Chronicle -- for a little chat this week. He's an SF native, so the guy gets extra points from me.

Sam's new movie, "Choke" (which opens here this Friday), has more weird plot twists than the White House Disaster Room. We're not selling it here, and we didn't let him sell it when he sat down in my office and we wired him up for sound.
