Here is a video version of the presentation for my dissertation defense (except the nerdy slides with regression tables and such have been removed). The dissertation was titled, Ghosts in the Shell: An Investigation of the Link Between Automation and the Nature of Work.

Left to its own velocity, the video below will scroll through slides at a rate of 100 slides in 2 minutes and 45 seconds. To experience this presentation at a more reasonable speed: (a) enter full screen mode for the video (click the four arrows that point to the four corners icon within the embedded video) and then (b) use your space bar to stop the video on slides you want to look at more closely or for longer than 1-2 seconds. The actual presentation, with questions and comments from committee members, took 90 minutes.

Enjoy.

Very cool. I'd love to see your take on automation as it relates to Financial Services ie. High Frequency Trading given your background in Trading. I wonder if Andrew Coates from Agent Arts / Black Cab fame has seen this?

(may not be clear from the Vimeo account but this Michael Payne)
