This photofilm is visual essay by photographer Zarina Holmes on the perception on Uzbekistan. Central Asia is misunderstood and misinterpreted in the Western media in general. This is not helped by the region's media policy, such as in Uzbekistan, imposing severe photography censorship. It creates an awkward situation that prevents positive and honest representation of the country to come through. The Uzbek people should be allowed to shine as they are.
