17. Ray's Efudex Treatment Video

So since I pretty much say it all in the vid, when I first looked around for other people using Efudex the pics freaked me out and I couldn't find any video. Though I was absolutely greatful for the pics and blogs I did find I just figured I may as well document my own little miserable mess so that the next person trying to see what happens can see what I went through.

You can also view the Katy Perry - Hot N Cold Lipdub from the end of this video by itself here:

Here's a bit I wanted to squeeze into the vid but it didn't make it:

- Early inflammatory phase: During the first week of application, mild inflammation occurs

- Inflammatory phase: During following weeks, redness and swelling occur with some crusting and burning.

- Tumor disintegration phase: Lesions resolve as the skin exfoliates

- Healing phase: Over 1 to 2 weeks, new skin grows into the treatment area.

- Complete healing generally occurs within 2 months after treatment cessation. Your skin is healthy again.

Anyway, at this point still got a long way to go.

my dad did something similar like 10 years ago... although he did it the naturalpathic way. Face was red for like three weeks.

This is a great personal take Ray, I commend you.

Ouch. Will keep up with how it's going. Thx for the glimpse into your world. :) BTW, what did you use for your text animations and transitions? Hope the face keeps healing!
  • Underground Planet plus 1 year ago
Thanks, and will post again when it's all healed up. The transitions were just a cross blur. The text was done in Sony Vegas ProType Titler and just had an animated lens flare thrown on em. =)

So how the hell are you doing? Its been almost a month since the last update. I hope you are doing well.
  • Underground Planet plus 1 year ago
Doing much better, thanks. I've been planning on doing one last update as soon as it's completely healed. Problem is, it keeps not being completely healed! Not that it's bad compared to what it was but there's still light pink almost "scar" looking parts where it was worst. I'm hoping those will clear up soon and I can finish this up.

Ray, I just landed on this video. Wow, fun stuff. I'm a little confused though. Did you apply that stuff to your entire head and face and only the precancer spots got attacked? Otherwise one might expect the whole area to be red not just certain spots. Or did you just apply it to the spots that the Doc told you to hit?
  • Underground Planet plus 8 months ago
Not to my whole "head" but most of the face and parts of my head. Supposedly it targets the areas that are pre-cancerous only and it seemed to be that way. There were parts that we thought may be an issue that didn't react at all. But I did wonder if just about any random person would get some reaction if they used it.
