When the waves are small or you just need a change of pace, there's nothing quite like going for a body surf. And using a handplane can take it to another level.
There are many different variations of handplanes being made these days, from foam to wood to even plastic. We've even shown how to make a handplane from a skateboard (korduroy.tv/2010/skateboard-handplane-surf-sufficient).
But in this episode of Surf Sufficient, Cyrus Sutton takes a more traditional route and shows how to make a wooden handplane out of a paulownia blank.
