Thanks for the cool tutorial. Do you need crossover or just regular ethernet cables? Does this also increase render performance within FCP?

Crossover or regular ethernet should work. Unfortunately, you have to use another program to make a render farm for FCP. I believe you need a cluster system or xsan 2 not really sure, but I know you can't do that in qmaster...

They need to make it so you can do that in qmaster.

Great job! This actually fixed my compressor, it stopped working a while ago and after many re-installs and other internet tips, I couldn't get it back (something to do with QMaster and networking probably), but once I selected a Cluster instead of This Computer, it worked! Brilliant!

This pretty much solved my issues. now all i need to know is how do i get maya renders to work with qmaster? any ideas?
