The series of shots is well thought out and executed. Nice choice of model as well as music. Also nice choice to shoot in Black and White.

    Nice job,

    I have a problem:

I am intending to use Zeiss Ze 21mm lense on my 5d with Glidecam x-10 but i don't know if it's image is in focus in all situations, so that i can use it with Glidecam or i have to adjust the focus?

It would be really appreciated if you could help me
  • Hervé Demers plus 1 year ago
Hi. Well, it could be done and the wide angle is indeed the right choice for this purpose. But it depends if you have enough light to step down the lens significantly. You cannot expect to have infinite depth of field on such a large sensor if you use this 21mm at f/2.8. If I were you, I'd probably make the necessary tests in order to know the approximate amount of light I'd need on the 5D for the required depth of field in ISO/F-Stop. Especially if you plan to use this same lens for many shots.

    Thanks for your complete answer.
I have no access to the lenses to test them myself.
Which one do you think is better? 24L,21mm ze or 18mm ze.

The choice of a lens is an aesthetic choice that will influence color, definition, shape and form. You have to try them to understand the nuances of its effect. Renting is the best option. They are all great lenses :)

Hey Hervé, I watched this video a while back and really enjoyed it then. So when we decided to do a Fashion Film feature on our blog I included your film.

Very nice - love the focus tracking as she walks down the street - left me wanting more!!

What did you use to stabilize / balance ?
looking forward to seeing more - you use the 5D very nicely.

    Cheers

  • Salut,

Truly gorgeous work. I've just started... hope to one day be as good as you =)

If I may ask, what type of stabilization did you choose to work with?
  • Hervé Demers plus 8 months ago
Sure. 95% of this ad was shot handheld with a regular shoulder stabilization rig. Any brand will do. And the rest was made on a tripod. Oh, and let's not forget the wheel chair ^^
