did you use an adapter for this or just add in some vignetting in? looks good mate. you were able to display this beautiful bird so raw and interesting.
  •
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago
hi Liam, no the vignetting is magic bullet color correction...no adapter. Thanks mate fore compliments.

  • MizzMeister 3 years ago
Wow! I agree with everyone... Amazing. I also really loved how you gave it a story rather than just straight nature footage (which would have still been fantastic), but it adds a whole new layer to the film. We get to experience this stunning and inspirational event through the man riding his bike.
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago
good comment, you explaine perfctly my prospective to this work. Is amazing having this response. thx Mizz

  • Ron Clark 3 years ago
Exceptional. As that bird first lands after it's first extended flight, I wonder what it thought of itself.
  •
  • Ryan Kline 3 years ago
This is insanely beautiful. Did you use a 35 mm adapter? What did you color correct with. I am amazed and inspired as a filmmaker.
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago
Thx Ryan, i use a mod picture profile than i yuo looks for the c.c. I like to create fiction with nature scene.
  • Mark Huffman 3 years ago
What program do you use to do this?
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago
With EX1 we can create a personale picture profile.
  •
  • Awesome. I'd love to see it without the bike rider and less MTV over-color yellow corrected look. The Story is great. Song could be more exciting as learning to fly is an RUSH and exciting as the birds could be seen feeling it - rather than some slow pop song... try some Van Halen - Leaning to Fly - I'd love to cut it clean, fast - saturated - 80s style.
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago
thx for your style impression, is a cine like correction, i like 80s but prefere other sound for nature.
  •
  • TrepTower 3 years ago
    I'm a fan of this.

But I hate to be devil's advocate about this. But may be that was more of a territorial issue between those two birds, there was a lot of posturing.

I mean the protagonist bird seemed to be a rather competent flyer, and it's plumage seemed rather well developed so probably not so young.

But I'm no Avian Biologist, so awesome short.
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago
Is the Cyclo the man leran to fly ;-)

    Stupendo.

Pou' essere che era un rituale di corteggiamento o duello tra maschi quello che hai ripreso?
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago

Well no wonder those birds are going extinct. They live out in a plain when they should live where there are trees so they can learn to fly the right way.

Amazing, but the only thing I would say is the first few shots you didn't have a vignette, but the rest you did, I just like it better when people are consistent with that. Great, great job though!

  • Matt 3 years ago
i wish there were some shots that "matched the explosiveness of the music", rather than just long random shots of the birds doing the same thing over and over.

unfortunately... MY opinion is the music makes this video good , not necessarily the shots themselves.
  •
  • Christian Letruria 3 years ago
thx for your opinion Matt, when i edit i make a dicision, the birds actions have an inside story not easy to see ( a subtext), anyone can see what he want, i see this and i use a "long sequence shot ", because this scene, is unique. But its my opinion...all the best.
  • Matt 3 years ago
I understand, that makes sense. I guess I didnt see that originally.
  •
  • André Chocron plus 3 years ago
This is really beutiful, I love the images! However I feel the Sigur Ros song makes it seem like a commercial; the music and the images are too harmonic together in a way.. There's no friction. I would go for something rougher. That being said: Nice!
  •

Really beautiful. It's amazing to watch the bird trying different techniques to get off the ground. And when he finally does it seems so elegant even his flared landing. Isn't instinct fantastic also your instinct to produce this great moving piece of video.
