In the summer of 2008 we combined sun, salsa, lost of other good live music, mojito's, snorkelling and cycling in an amazing and difficult to understand country. We cycled 33 days through the west and the east off Cuba. I visited almost 25 % of the world but saw never a stranger country then Cuba; but it was wonderful.

Have fun with your preparations using my film and other information on my weblog - Travelling the World on a Bicycle -.

I've always wanted to go there; and your film just makes me want to go all the more. How difficult is it to get in country?

Hello Jets mom....no more difficult then buying a airplane thicket and paying for a visa :>
Thanxs its a compliment that my films inspire other people. Are you going on a bicycle?

Because the U.S. has sanctions against Cuba...I think it might be a little more difficult to catch a plane flying directly from the US to C. Might have to fly to Canada and then to Cuba..I'll have to check it out further. Regardless...I'm sure there are plenty of work arounds. As for biking hmmm. I've honestly never thought about it but your right; it certainly would give you a whole new perspective of the places you're traveling through not to mention the lighter footprint you leave on the environment. Do you fly with your bike or rent one when you get to your destination?

We fly with our bikes. I think you wont have problems reaching Cuba as an U.S. citizen. I met some Cubans who live in the states. Remember some of the places we visit in Cuba you can't visit with a privat car our bus.

Hope you try cycling. There are organisations who rent bicycles and help you with your trip if you're unsure.
